Print Flat Bracelet System

Print Flat Bracelet System

I was fed up with waiting around for hours only to have a printed bracelet turn out subpar, so I decided to develop a system that would enable users to quickly and accurately print and shape custom bracelet designs. My solution involves using a combination of a design for the print flat bracelet, one wrist measurement, and some hot water. This system consists of several key components, including: - A comprehensive sizing chart - Six mandrels in various sizes, which should be sufficient for most people's needs - Two large-sized bracelets for test printing I'll also soon release two bracelet designs in all six standard sizes for easy printing. The Print Flat Heart Key Bracelet design is available on Thingiverse in all six sizes: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:680850. While you don't necessarily need to use the mandrels, they do come in handy when making bracelets for others, as they minimize the risk of accidentally scalding someone with hot water. To get started, you'll need to take a wrist measurement and then find the closest circumference size available. I recommend using a mandrel that's slightly smaller than your actual circumference – for instance, if your wrist is 180mm in diameter, go with the 175mm mandrel. If you're not planning on using the mandrels, simply consult PrintFlatBraceletSystemInstructions.pdf for guidance. Now that you have all this information at hand, follow these basic steps to get going: 1. Take a wrist measurement and match it to the recommended bracelet size. 2. If necessary, print a custom length bracelet from my file. 3. Soak your freshly printed design in hot water (ideally almost boiling) for 10-15 seconds before gently stretching and wrapping it around your wrist or a sizing mandrel. You can also consult the official PrintFlatBraceletSystemInstructions.pdf for further information, as needed. Please keep in mind that to get the best results from this system, you must print your designs with PLA plastic. Typically, bracelets take between 10-30 minutes to print out, and forms might take a few hours longer (depending on your Printrbot setup).
