<p>dishwasher sign clean/dirty print-in-place</p> <p>This is a Remix of <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:3078497">Sliding Word Changing Dishwasher Sign</a> by <a href="https://www.thingiverse.com/middlefingerboss">middlefingerboss</a><br/> Thank you for this great idea!</p> <p>I am not sure if this is the best idea I have had so far. Designing this as an assembly might be better. But I find making things "print in place" very satisfying :)</p> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/sJay4G9O4_8"></oembed> </figure> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/0H1SMwa_AAo"></oembed> </figure> <h3>Print instructions</h3><p>The sign is meant to hold on your dishwasher with inlaid magnets with size 9.6x24x2.1mm. You can get them <a href="https://www.printschnitzel.at/produktseite/3x-magnet-9-6x24-2x3mm">here</a>.<br/> I added a .step file so you can change it for other magnets.<br/> Alternatively you can simply use double-sided tape.</p> <p>Open the file clean_dirty_dishwasher_slider_pip.3mf</p> <ol> <li>Open the file clean_dirty_dishwasher_slider_pip.3mf </li> <li>Change the extruders accordingly</li> <li>If you change the printer to yours make sure to add a pause to insert the magnets at z=3.8mm. You might skip that and later put a double sided tape on it's back</li> </ol><p>alternatively:</p> <ol> <li>Load filament to your printer:</li> <ol> <li>Extruder 1 for text: "dirty"</li> <li>Extruder 2 for the body</li> <li>Extruder 3 for text: "clean"</li> </ol> <li>Send the file <i>clean_dirty_dishwasher_slider_pip_0.2mm_PLA_MK3MMU2_2h16m.gcode</i> to your printer</li> </ol><p>The print has huge bridging and the two parts of the sign which should slide against each other are usualy slightly welded together.<br/> Next to the main part, the clean-dirty shield, there is a small tool.<br/> It is ment to break the parts free. Here is a rather dramatic video how to do it :D<br/> If you have a vice you better use it instead.</p> <p> <figure class="media"> <oembed url="https://www.youtube.com/embed/qMNqGU8AP3w"></oembed> </figure> <br/> <br/><br/> For better sliding use a drop of oil on the rails.</p> <p>There are 4 holes on the back. To improve the functionality you can insert pieces of flex filament. This makes the inner part stick to the surface better. Have a look at the second youtube video above. Also you can see a fifth filament piece. This is a support and makes the sign "snappier" by eliminating the gap at the indexing part.</p>
