Print in Place SD Card Box

thingiverse

A simple print in place box to hold eight micro SD cards and one full size SD card. Includes a satisfying snap closure. Inspired by povsky's linkage box, but redesigned from the ground up to have an optimized lid swing to clear the SD card. If the linkage doesn't move smoothly, adjust the extruder flow rate and try again. There is a bridged gap on the front of the lid, so good cooling is needed. https://youtu.be/QpdXwScYh6o Note: The model has the appropriate tolerances for the motion to be smooth and precise. making the clearances even just 0.05 bigger than they are leaves the lid feeling loose and wobbly. If you're having problems with the pieces fusing together try turning down the extrusion rate/flow multiplier by increments of 5% (this can be done on the printer, no need to reslice). If that doesn't work then your printer just isn't accurate enough for this model. Possible places to look would be part cooling, axis backlash, extrusion issues... --- Updates * April 2, 2023 - Made the large slot a bit larger * March 30, 2023 - Initial release
