This versatile robot can be made a variety of ways, being either fully 3D printed or a combination of sheet metal and printing for added toughness. Its basic frame can be driven around with no modification, but if it is to be used as a battle bot, an auxiliary offensive weapon is recommended. The frame should be printed in TPU with 100% infill for best results, as TPU has the highest impact resistance of any filament with its flexible properties absorbing excess shock loads. The skeleton of the bot is flexible, but the plates that can be screwed on give it its rigidity. The templates can be 3D printed in a single layer and be used to cut out the plates from any material. Plates cut from metals such as stainless steel or titanium will give the bot the toughness it needs in the fighting ring The drive system should have two high torque gearmotors for best results. Use wheels that can attach directly to the motors as the small frame does not have enough room for a secondary transmission. Brushed R/C tank controllers paired with an R/C car transmitter and receiver are ideal for controlling this robot. Make sure the controller's amp rating is higher than the motor's or it might be blown out. Battle bot weapons such as spinners and beater bars can be attached to any part of the armor plating so long as they don't interfere with maneuverability. Combat robotics is inherently dangerous, use extreme care with systems such as these. Build at your own risk.
