Like the pendulum clock, this design is inspired by someone else. Matthias Wandel at woodgears.ca produced a timber combination lock. I've redrawn it so that the moving components can be 3D printed. To use the thing, notice that each of the discs in the lock has a number of filled slots. Simply cut out one slot on each disc so that the lever arm fits in and the combination is set. The plan was to use it on my new iris door on my shed, which I've recently updated. However, it looks like I'm going to have to do a significant redesign of the combo lock to make that work. Nevertheless, this might prove interesting...
