Printable Parametric VESA 75/100 Adaptor for Mounting ITX Cases Etc.
thingiverse
I recently purchased a M350 Universal Mini-ITX enclosure for 3D rendering purposes, requiring a compact workstation that would mount onto my 19' widescreen monitor. The M350 seemed perfect, but I later discovered a VESA mounting hole dilemma - my monitor and case did not match. To resolve this issue, I created a parametric adaptor in OpenScad with variable options for key attributes like mounting hole sizes and plate height, as well as three distinct styles of mounting plates. The designs include Cross, Outer Ring, and Full Strength mounts, with the latter being the strongest option. Additionally, there's an option to switch between generating the mounting plate and a smaller calibration piece for testing. Despite being designed for VESA75-equipped monitors and ITX cases, the adaptor is versatile and can be adjusted using OpenScad for other purposes. I printed my adaptor in PLA and found it strong enough to hold my ITX case and electronics. Download the scad file, adjust variables, export as an STL, print the test piece, and if satisfied, proceed to set options for the desired adaptor style and mounting holes. Finally, print with preferred settings, attach nuts and bolts, and mount your chosen device onto the adaptor.
