Filament spool holder for the Printrbot Simple Metal 1403. Uses a short piece of 8mm linear rail as an axle, mounts on top of the Z axis rods. Instructions I added a cross piece to mount to both Z rods for stability. This is sized to fit the largest spool I've received from Monoprice. If you come across a larger one that doesn't fit, use the openscad source. Design was shrunk a bit to fit the print bed of the simple metal. I've added top caps which mount to the 8mm rail and slide on top of the forks. This keeps the rail from walking off the holder while printing. Two are included in the design, but I only used one. It is a tight fit to the rail, but should be easy to lift on and off and slide through the filament spool. Previously I used electrical tape to hold the rail on. This is a bit more elegant. To print, I used RotY=270deg, RotZ=90 deg. Turn skirt off or it won't fit. I used 0.200mm layers and 25% infill. My print had a bit of corner lift and warping on one end of the fork, but works just fine using a top cap. OpenSCAD source provided.
