Printed double IGUS Bearing block for E3D baseplate
thingiverse
I had trouble getting the top bearing blocks on my X carriage (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2193695) precisely aligned on my AM8 build after installing IGUS DryLin RJ4JP-01-08 bearings. The cause was discovered to be a misalignment of the original SC8UU aluminum blocks, which caused the bearings to bind up. To prevent this issue, I modified the original bearing block design to accommodate 2 LM8UU size IGUS bearings and mounted it directly onto my baseplate using the 4 outer holes. This allowed the carriage to move smoothly without binding. Adjusting the internal diameter to 15.3mm was necessary to ensure a proper fit of the IGUS bearing, which wasn't loose or too tight, and didn't require excessive force to install. If you need to adjust the diameter for your own printer, use Fusion360; otherwise, send me a message if you require a custom-sized STL file.
