Printhead casing+cooling for CP-01
prusaprinters

I haven't seen many casings for this specific type of 3d printer. The cooling options have not satisfied me too. So I decided to make it myself

The casing is printed flat, than you bend it with hairdryer. I highly recommend bending over a "stick" to ensure the fold is even and round. Then you attach it with 3 screws on the top of the printhead (see the photo). I have included different versions of casing, feel free to remix them

The cooling duct holder is attached instead of stock fan. The duct is then attached with M4 screw. If you are planning using other casing, make sure you fix the 5015 fan properly. In case you are using mine, the lid includes an attachment hole (M4 screw and nut)

Cooling duct is printed in “standing” orientation. I printed mine in PLA and it does not melt, just make sure you have a 3-4mm air gap between the heating block and ends of the duct. All the necessary supports have already been added. Prints with any layer hight and 0.4mm nozzle

I also included my overhang test. Printed with 0.28mm layer hight, 3 perimetrs, 40mm/s outer wall, 50mm/s inner wall and 100% cooling. Same model, same g-code. Important note: print with 3+ perimetres, otherwise you will end up with curling (my experience). Also the speed of outer and inner walls matters
