Printing in 3 dimensions, part 2... These are the first test to print REALLY in 3 dimensions on a different way...! Print with zero gravity on an Ultimaker...! Single nozzle, Single mesh, Dynamic Z... And yes, I didn't switch of gravity, but the balance between speed, feed rate and cooling is making it possible to print mid-air. made a movie http://youtu.be/fcefY6Lnt7E and another one: http://youtu.be/-1uTsJJ_f-8 see also: www.rooiejoris.nl facebook.com/europerminutedesign Instructions HISTORY This started by making a better light around the nozzle. [Inspired by http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:117345] This made me think of attaching the radial fan in a better and printable way. So light and fan where merged and mounted so simple that is tried my test with two radial fans which i wanted to do for a long long time already. This gave so much cooling that the material can be cooled instantly. TEST The first spiral test is really simple and generated with Cura. Layer height on 20 mm and spiralize on. to compensate for the material flow i made the wall thickness very very thin, like 0.04 mm. The second i sliced with 2mm layer height and creates a very nice spring. Everything is printed with a 1mm nozzle.
