I had to design this because I broke my Ubis hot end and decided well, if I'm going to buy a new one might as well upgrade. After I got it is when I realized that it was shorter than the Ubis, much like the E3D hot end. So I whipped this guy up to clamp it under the stepper. this was supposed to be a temporary fix but has worked out well enough that I never got around to changing it. It was only a patch job so that I could print the real parts so I didn't put to much effort into it, however it does not require any modification to the Printrbot stock parts. How I Designed This Tips on assembly I would recommend that you install the lower extruder arm to the mount before installing the mount to the printer, but it installs mostly the same way the 1405 instructions say to. I have included the SolidWorks file if you need to modify it or wish to try to improve it, I can convert to sketchup if needed. Update I have abandoned this part because I have built a new printer and I found this adapter http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:347953 that will most likely work better than what I had created.
