Printrbot J-head Adapter

Printrbot J-head Adapter

Important notice! There is a slight flaw with the earlier design which causes the J-Head to wobble during print causing prints to have uneven surfaces. I have upload the revised .scad file and removed the previous design. I made a J-head adapter for my Printrbot Simple All-metal so that I can try out the J-head series of hotends and in case my stock UBIS hotend burns out. I found out the J-head I have is about 10 mm too short and due to the Z-axis almost touching the minimum height, I decided to make an attachment to extend the hotend further downwards. Currently the OpenScad file is a little messy but I will work on making it user friendly with comments explaining the use of each parameters. Also, the current parameters made the J-head hotend longer by about 10 mm compared to the UBIS hotend. This extension cause the fan to be blow towards the PEEK insulator instead of the nozzle end which is good in cooling the PLA part but bad during printing. Next few changes would be to: 1) Shorten the adapter so the length is comparable to the UBIS hotend. 2) Add fins to the surface to improve surface heat dissipation. 3) Add a mount for a fan to keep the PLA printed part from deforming or worst, melt. If you need a specific size in .stl, please do send me a comment anytime and I will try my best to upload it as soon as possible . Instructions Layer resolution: 0.1 mm Fill: 60% Support everywhere & Brim turned on. Additional stuff, 2pcs 12 mm long M3 Hex screws and nuts.
