An experimental printbed for printing PLA with no heated bed. The first layer extrudes into the engraved grid and the textured acrylic adds extra grip. So far has worked with every print. Idea inspired by early MakerBot Cupcake acrylic printbed and the perforated phenolic printbeds used in Afinia printers. Instructions To be lasercut from 6mm sandblasted or textured acrylic. EPS as shown for use with a ULS VersaLaser according to the following colors: Red (outline): vector cut Blue (10mm squares): heavy vector engrave Green (2mm squares): medium vector engrave Avoid situations where a hot pinthead is parked in close proximity to the acrylic for a prolonged time as this may melt the acrylic.
