Printrbot Original Build Platform

Printrbot Original Build Platform

thingiverse

This is my version of the build platform intended for the original Printrbot with the 6" x 6" build area. It's designed after beardface's 8" x 8" build area platform (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:17717), but the hole spacing is designed to match Brook Drumm's original Printrbot (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:16990). Instructions Option 1: Get it cut out with a laser cutter/waterjet/giant mongo 36-axis CNC whatever-you-have. I got mine cut out through Ponoko, for all of $25 - you can find the part here http://www.ponoko.com/design-your-own/products/printrbot-original-build-platform-8576 Option 2: Print out the PDF with your old-fashioned ink-on-paper printer, and use it as a template! The platform is designed to measure 8.5" x 11" exactly, so a standard US Letter sheet of paper can be used as a hole location template. One word of caution - if you do this, I'd advise slightly oversizing the holes that attach the bed to the X axis rails. That way, even if your holes aren't in a perfectly perpendicular square, there'll still be enough compliance between the bed and the rails to avoid stressing the frame and linear motion components. Update 2-17-13: I fixed the holes for the heated build platform to match those on the 6" Printrbot HBP (available through the Printrbot store). Let me know if there are any other errors!
