Printrbot Play Extruder Shroud

Printrbot Play Extruder Shroud

I've had an ongoing project to improve the part cooling on my Printrbot Play. I've finally got the solution I needed. This shroud incorporates the standard 20x20mm square fan for extruder cooling and a 50mm radial fan for part cooling. The shroud is tapped for 3mm button head screws in four places to secure the fans. Note that I ground down the radial fan tabs about 2mm just under the screw heads so the screws do not extend beyond the face of the fan. This provides clearance to the Printrbot enclosure should the x-axis go to the max. The fan duct for the square fan is tapped for 3mm screws as well. The "pb" lettering was done on Cricut Explore Air. I'll note this as a remix even though my starting point was the metal shroud that came with the Printrbot Play. That said, I was likely influenced in part by crazygood33's design.
