An aluminum plate (1/4 inch thick) replaces the wooden base of a Printrbot Plus, while acrylic legs extend the X-Axis by 1 inch and Y-axis by 0.5 inches for improved stability. This modification grants easier access to electronics but requires a 0.1-inch shim between x-axis rods and Z-axis bearings for optimal stabilization. Note that this setup is designed for RAMPS, and a 90-degree USB-B connector or standoffs of about 1 inch are necessary to clear the Y-axis bearing block.
