Updated to hike up the shafts going down to allow full Z travel, and shortened the "wheel base" to allow it to hold smaller spools, such as nylon. Also prints as a single piece (not including the wheels)). Also made it able to hold narrower spools. Thing to hold a variety of filament spools on top of a Printrbot Simple Metal. Designed to hold the spool clear of the full travel of the Z axis, with a minimal mechanism. The spool might spin OK w/o the bearings, but, hey, why not ? Uses 4 planetary bearing (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:497136). Built and in use on my machine. Instructions Print with ABS or similar strong and stiff material, 100% fill, so that wider spools of filament will not bow the spreaders. Flip the part on its back, shaft mounts facing up. Print four of the planetary bearings (http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:497136), to slide over the spreaders .
