I'm showcasing my very first 3D design, tailored specifically for my Printrbot Simple Metal. To accommodate Harchbox filament rolls, which don't have a notch inside the arbor to ride smoothly on the spool holder, I need a clever solution. Currently, these rolls sit in contact with the z-axis rods. When printing long vertical objects, this design flaw puts my entire project at risk - if I'm not careful, the filament will get caught in the z-axis motor and completely derail the print. After using a quick makeshift fix comprised of a toilet paper tube and some cardboard to hold it in place until now, I finally have an engineered fix ready. With it printed and securely mounted, I can focus solely on ensuring that every detail of my prints comes out perfectly - including tall ones - without worrying about collisions along the way.
