I made this because I was unsatisfied with the available choices for spool holders that could be made within the Simple's small build volume. It's a work in progress, but it gets the job done currently. Edit: I have now changed out the STLs with a second version that should work better, and without any glue. Hopefully these work better with everyone--I'm pretty happy with how it's working so far. Instructions have been updated. For reference, this was designed for a Push Plastic spool. It measures about 72mm in width. FilamentChallenge Instructions Print two copies each of "Foot" and "Foot 2." Print one "Connector." The axles on each foot have a little cap that's been drafted out a small angle to help retain the bearing once it's set in place (note that this will make it more difficult to remove). I recommend having some tools or a solid flat surface to use when popping the bearings on. Print the feet as shown in the picture. The orientation is important, since you don't want any support structures cluttering up the interface between the Foot and Connector. You will need supports underneath the axles, but those are easy enough to tear out with some pliers. Once all the pieces are done, you should be able to press them snugly together. Any 608 bearings should work fine--I salvaged these off of an old skateboard.
