The original Printrbot design, effective until October 2013, has an opening that causes issues with filament drifting and jamming. John Biehler's solution, called the "drinking straw mod," was a partial fix. However, upon inspection, it was found that the hot end is off-center from the extruder idler bearing by almost 1mm. Additionally, the guide arm of John's design broke, rendering it loose in the slot. As a result, I developed my own version. It aligns the guide hole with the center of the hot end and clears out the center for better heat dissipation and inspection. Images of these three versions are available for reference.
