Printrbot Simple X Tensioner v2
thingiverse
This revised string tensioner design involves replacing the screws in the printer bed with parts that include nuts for adjusting X-axis string tension. The STL file offers two mirrored pieces for each end of the print bed. To install, extend the part so a nut can securely hold the screw. Since this version uses nuts, the hole exists in the model for full depth, unlike the original. If using this design, cut material off of your Printrbot Simple to avoid losing any print volume in the X axis; one or two notches are needed depending on the number of tensioners used. A picture is provided showing the notches made in a Simple and another with the tensioner in use. Any modifications to your printer are done at your own risk, without warranty or guarantee from Thingiverse or the creator. Ensure bearings are kept clean after modification.
