Since my PrintrBot Simple Metal has been printing almost nonstop, I decided to build a compact enclosure to dampen the sound and safeguard against bumps or accidents during a print. To minimize the size of the box, I made deliberate cuts for the moving parts when the machine is active. I cannot assure any substantial noise reduction or improvement in prints due to trapped heat inside the box, but it does look great.
