Profile Foamy RC Motor Mount (Customizable)

Profile Foamy RC Motor Mount (Customizable)

This is a motor mount for profile foamy RC airplanes. The default size is for 2204/14 brushless outrunner motor with an X-mount mounted on 6mm foam. It's configurable for different motor sizes and foam thicknesses. (You will need to use #2 servo screws or 2mm bolts.) I've included the .scad file so you can change parameters to create one for your motor and plane. Enjoy! Instructions To install the mount after printing, put glue on the flat peg surfaces and on the part of the flat plate that will contact the front "cross" of the airplane. Use #2 servo screws to attach the motor's mount to the plastic mount. To customize the mount to match the dimensions of your motor and foam, open the .scad file with OpenSCAD (or other suitable program), and edit the 4 parameters near the top of the file. Then re-render and export to STL. (Example: If you want to use 2mm bolts and nuts instead of screws, you can shorten the pegs by setting a smaller screwlength - see instructions in .scad file. The second .stl file shows an example of this with a thicker front plate and for 3mm foam.) Use of the parameters is documented in the .scad file, but if you have questions, please post them in the comments below and I will try to answer. [NOTE: The screw/bolt diameter is NOT parameterized. If your motor requires larger screw/bolt size, you will need to dig a bit deeper into the code and do a remix. Hopefully the comments will help a little bit - but you will need to know some SCAD.]
