Prony Brake

The Prony Brake provides a means of applying an adjustable load torque to the output shaft of the centrifugal pump motor. By adjusting the ‘brake force’, the torque level can be changed. Combining the measurement of this torque with speed measured using the Tachometer the mechanical power output can also be measured.
