ProperWinder Wall Mounted Laser Sensor (Filawinder upgrade)

ProperWinder Wall Mounted Laser Sensor (Filawinder upgrade)

In an effort to get the ProperWinder (link below) to run at a more consistent speed, I remixed the wall mounted laser sensor (also by universaljoint) so that the laser and sensor are all on the same unit, which then moves on its bracket. With this, the filament is not able to pass so closely to the laser, casting a large shadow across a small amount of motion. Now, the filament is allowed to be closer to the sensor, and further form the laser. The whole unit can also move closer to, or further from, the wall it is mounted to, because I used the PTFE carrier design (also included here) from the ProperWinder. I also added some other mods to make connecting the laser to the sensor board a little easier, as well as a screw hole on top to secure the laser once properly positioned.

This model does need supports for the rails at the bottom due to the slots and pockets for the PTFE screws. I included a 3MF file for Slic3r (PrusaSlicer/SuperSlicer) users with supports already set up.

ProperWinder: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4655131
Category: 3D Printer Accessories
