The proposed modification targets the Makelangelo Motor and pen mounts for the drawing robot found at www.marginallyclever.com The motor has been turned upside down, allowing the tip to be easily exposed so a fun image can be cut out and mounted on the spindle. The updated pen mount was created from a previously designed version that enables users to grip the pen by tightening it into the collar, much like turning a drill handle. This new design aims to simplify the process of mounting the pen. In addition, the servo motor needs to be positioned vertically, necessitating a modified dxf file for a new plate. To enhance printability, the tolerances have been increased in order to avoid overly snug fits. Those with access to a 3D printer are encouraged to try printing this design and report their findings. Since the author lacks a 3D printer, alternatives such as using Shapeways or other similar services may be necessary for now. This modified mount is designed to accommodate pens measuring approximately 13 mm in diameter.
