We are Niels and Max. Two Dutch “Health Technology/Human movement technology” from The Hague university of applied sciences. In our third year of our education, we started this project after a seminar “The protheses from the future”. In this seminar we saw a prothesis controlled by muscle activity. The lecturer could do things like playing guitar and picking up tiny things. Only the downside of these kind of protheses is the cost, a hand like this is around 50.000,- euro. Inspired by the emerging 3D printing world and cheap electronics, like Arduino. We started our adventure to design and make an affordable EMG controlled hand.
