This is an adapter to fit a CPAP machine to a Vaincre full face snorkel mask. THIS IS A PROTOTYE THAT SEEMS TO WORK. I HAVE NOT FULLY TESTED THIS DESIGN YET. I AM NOT A DOCTOR - USE THIS DESIGN AT YOUR OWN RISK! Here is a link to the mask used in this design... https://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XQW5C5F/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o01_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 This is kind of remix. I originally wanted to design a respirator and not a CPAP non-invasive ventilator but after reading this article I decided this was a better use of my time. https://3dprintingcenter.net/2020/03/22/isinnova-is-back-with-another-life-saving-design/ The mask they are adapting is about four to five times more expensive so I designed one to fit on the Vaincre full face snorkel mask sold on Amazon. If you can get your hands on the original mask and design mentioned in the link above, I would recommend you do that as it has probably been more thoroughly tested. This is different from most of the face mask air filter adapters you see on this site. This model I created can be use for air filtration but it is mainly designed for CPAP ventilation. You will need to use a PEEP valve to use this design in CPAP mode. These types of snorkels are designed with two separate airway channels. I believe this helps more thoroughly circulate the air in the mask. One port can be used to send air (or an air oxygen mix) into the mask while the other port is for exhausting the gas. In order for this to work you need to modify the mask and pry the black plastic piece covering in the front outside of the mask (the area that is covering the nose and mouth area). When it is removed you will see a little translucent silicone disk. That needs to be carefully taken off the front of the mask and be reinserted from the INSIDE of the mask. This allows the person using the mask to still be able to inhale if air stops flowing through the adapter ports. NOTE: The air breathed in through the now reversed silicone valve, will not be filtered. The other silicone disks located near the sides of the nose may need to be removed as well. Again I haven't fully tested this design yet. I've designed the model to print with as little supports as possible. Print the model vertical, with the longest hose port touching the bed. You will need some supports that print up into the port touching the bed, so it can close up an inner chamber, this is critical to the design working. The supports will be deep up in the adapter. You can carefully use a narrow set of scissors slightly opened to twist out the supports after the print is done. The design is push fit onto the mask and it is really strong but you may want to tape the seem between the mask and the adapter. PLA will work but PETG is probably better as it won't deform as quickly if it gets heated. NOTE: You cannot heat sterilize PLA and PETG. I will try to update the model based on feed back. I need more details on the dimensions of peep valves that can be fitted to the ports... so please share, inner diameter, outer diameter and thread dimensions if there are any.
