Hi,basic idea of this project createdn in Onshpe is to get cheap RepRap CNC lathe with C axis - mainly for gear milling by Proxxon hand grinding tool.Almost no machinning is ned. CNC parts are fixed on original joint poits, and glued, or both.X-axis motion ellongation is made by sliding printed and additionally threaded M6 nut.Z-motion of sliding nut is fixed by 6 mm dia rod guide. Guide clamps ared glued to main Al profile and can be also fixed by bolts to profile.Clearences for 3D printed parts are set for 0,4 mm dia. nozzle.3DP suitable materials are PLA nad PETG.Belts are 6 mm wide GT2 belts mostly used for 3D printers.Belts has his adwantages:- more torque for machining- smooth motion on low speeds ( direct driven screws was too noisy on low speeds )Smooth motion with was verified, but now it waits for original O-belt loops instead of diagonal-cuted and "Mac Givers" tape fixed common belts from old 3D printer.Driving CND unit is based on CNC Sheld with 3D printer drivers.Printed motor mount plates will be replaced by home machined alu plates. This final mod. waits for Proxxon mini mill final CNC mod.Files of mill CNC mod. will be upploaded soon.After first machinings I will think about endstops.Enjoy.
