This is a 3D model of Mecano's V2 Prusa Air. It is designed in Alibre and released in its native format as well as STL and STEP formats. Instructions Download and use as you desire. The main purpose is to provide a 3D model of the entire printer so that the full advantage of 3D modeling can be implemented. By having a model of the entire system; interferences, alterations, improvements, etc can much easier be fixed, implemented, analyzed, etc. It is certainly incomplete at this point and therefore a work in progress. I make no claim to any of the essential IP in these models as they are all derived from previous work. However there has been a considerable effort involved in converting the SCAD models into Alibre models. Idealy there would be a lossless path to bring OpenSCAD files into software that is better at building 3D systems. One excellent choice would be FreeCAD. There does seem to be some efforts towards that end, but I have not been able to get them to work. So for now I am recreating the models in Alibre by measurement (of the STL), by studying the SCAD files, and by measurement of the DXF data for the AIRV2. The AIR V2 parts are extrusions of the DXF outlines imported into Alibre I have implemented certain improvements where I think they are deserved in the printable plastic parts. Primarily in the X-ENDS. I have removed the idler bridge member in favor of buttresses, and used Alibre's powerful filleting capabilities to change sharp corners into smooth transitions for strength. In general the printable parts are derived from PRUSAJR-PRUSARMENDEL-8DCC230 release. The xplatform (or carriage) is from thing 9869.
