PRUSA I3 - Cover of the connections of the power supply

thingiverse

This Cover has been created in order to avoid small hands to touch the AC wires, and in addition to create the place for a Power Switch and a Volt-Amp meter. Most Power Supplies are of the same size, so this Cover should fit in most cases, due to its versatility. The Cover is fully open in the back and the bottom, so the air can still flow. I created it to be used with my PRUSA I3. The file originally made with SKETCHUP is also attached for eventual adaptations, especially for different accessories. -------------------- RELEASE NOTE FOR V3: I did not print this last version yet, because I'm waiting for my new Volt-Am to arrive to remove the precedent one. However modifications from precedent version should not bring any troubles, because they are for small usage improvement and do not basically change anything. (However, if you want to play safe, you still have the layouts of the precedent version) I will update this text after having printed the V3. If you print it before me, please make it public, or let me know if you meet any problem. Thks. V3 List of changes: - Structural reinforcements. - Aesthetic positioning of many 3mm holes on each sides, allowing the usage of any of them for a good fixation in each case (1 set of M3 bolt and nut on each side is perfect). - 2mm hole on the top of the 6.5 mm Power Switch hole, for the "position locker" of the switch. - Readjustment of the sizes of the holes on the facade, for a better immediate fitting with the accessories (25X45mm for the Volt-Amp, 8mm for the LED support, and 6.5mm for the Power Switch). - Edges have been smoothen. V4 List of changes: - Thin (and easy to be removed in case of need to give way to the fingers to position the 2 nuts inside) bars have been added to the design into the bottom openings, in order to help to the printing of the edge of the rear-bottom structural reinforcement. - Note that due to the aforesaid modification, the cover can now be used in various positions of the Power Supply, and no more exclusively in the position which is shown on the photo.
