PROTOTYPE working
Alterative fan-nozzle and cooling design for the Prusa I3 MK2(s) with an 40mm axial fan. The new 40mm fan has about the same air-pressure as the original 50mm blower but about 4 times more air-flow. The double sided fan duct provides more cooling for the printed part. I added an holder for a 9mm endoscope-camera too. This thing is just "in build", so no guarantee if it is working. I accept no liability for damages ! This is a remix of following things found here in thingiverse : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2065461 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2003467 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2096668 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1958083 https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1846705 The thing consists of 7 parts. Mandatory is part 0 and part 1. Optional is part 4 (camera holder) part 5 (x-carriage bearing block) and part 6 (fan-cap). Part 2 and 3 are slightly modified, but you can use the original parts from Prusa too if you use the original bearings. Be carefull : The extruder-body from the MK2s didn't fit to this thing, The PINDA probe holder is too big. But you can "downgrade" to the old MK2 extruder-holder or this thing : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1958083 If you use part 5 (x-carriage bearing block), it's mandatory to upgrade the z-axis-top too : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1846705 Update : Modified part 3 to fit igus RJZM-01-08 or RJM-01-08 (16mm). If you use the original LM8UU bearing, igus RJZM-02-08 or RJ4JP-01-08 (15mm), take the original x-carriage from Prusa or use this one : https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2438025 Update : Fixed some errors in the mesh and fix an old bug in the x-carriage that the belt is rubbing on the idler. Added optional 6th and 7th part. Update : Updated part 6. Old glued part is rattling the extruder if it is not 100% centered. The new screwed part avoid this problem. Update : Just replaced the extruder on my printer. Seems to work well. You can read the whole thread here in the Prusa forum : http://shop.prusa3d.com/forum/improvements-f14/alternative-nozzle-cooling-t4395.html Update : Fixed another belt rubbing at the x-carriage (Part 3)
