prusa i3 modular x-carriage
thingiverse
This is a modular x-carriage. The base-plate, belt-holder and bearing-holders (see remix sources) can be printed separately and assembled using 3mm screws and nuts. Moreover, the distance of the bearing-holders can be adjusted from approximately 44.5 to 45.5 millimeters in order to fit them perfectly onto linear rods. This adjustment significantly reduced my x-axis wobble. You can use either four LM8UU or two LM8LUU bearings. In my case, the fit of the bearing holders was so tight that I didn't need to secure the bearings using screws. The distance between the extruder mount holes is 30 millimeters for those in the center (passing through the belt-holder) and 23 millimeters for the other holes. All holes have a diameter of three millimeters. For assembly, you will require 3mm screws and nuts. The screws to attach bearing-holders must be exactly eight millimeters long. The two screws to attach the belt holder should be around twenty millimeters long. You will need two 3mm nuts for each belt-holder and bearing-holder. On June 1st, 2019, I added a better titan extruder mount (removed the old one). Note: I haven't thoroughly tested the titan extruder mount yet. I just printed it and am now printing with it. So far, there have been no problems. You will need two 3mm screws that are thirty-five millimeters long to attach the titan extruder mount.
