IMPORTANT: When importing the stl file, you must change the scale size from 100 to 1000. This case uses the screws and nuts provided by Prusa. Parts needed: 1. 4 M3x10 screws 2. 8 M3n Nuts 3. A bunch of zip ties If you want to design your own door that fits in the body, the dimensions for the slit are: Height = 4.222 in Width = 3.75 in Thickness = 0.139 in I found it difficult to handle the electronics with the door on the inside of the printer. So I reverse engineered the original case used on the Prusa i3 mk3 and then made modifications including: 1. Opening on the outside of the printer 2. Sliding door 3. Improved extruder wiring holder 4. Expanded Interior 5. Modified side mount 6. Zip tie holes Thoughts: I found the Prusa i3 mk3 very well designed over all but, with a few inconveniences. The door being on the inside of the printer was the major flaw. This design prevents using full range of my arms to adjust wiring and troubleshoot. I think they made it this way to prevent the y-Motor from crashing into the door or blocking the door but, this is solved using a sliding door. I found the original interior cramped. I could not see the circuit board on the original board because the wires buried it. To fix this, I designed my case larger with the circuit board mounted to the side away from the neck. This gave me room to zip tie the wires to the side, away from the circuit board. The neck that guided the wires from the extruder was a bit strange. I am not sure why they used a long peace of filament that went from the extruder to the neck in the case but, I did away with it and just made the neck longer with an additional zip tie strap. The screws to mount the original case were hard to reach. I had to use quarter turns and slowly inch the screws out/in the screw holes. Instead, I require the screws to be driven on the opposite side of the frame. The screw heads seems to stay out of the way of the moving Y-axis but, a 3D-printed cover could be laid over the screw heads to prevent loose wires from getting caught. Feel free to redesign this case to make it even better! I appreciate feedback! MERRY CHRISTMAS!!!!! TEAM PRUSA!!!!!
