Prusa I4 Filament Guide

Prusa I4 Filament Guide

If you have a Prusa I4, then you know that it can be a hastle to reach into the extruder to guide the filament from the stepper into the hot end. I have printed a couple of things from Thingiverse to try to fix the problem, but nothing I have found really fits my model. So I made something! :D My initial objective was to make a flexible filament guide, but since I don't have flexible filament yet, then I will just post this as a filament guide. It is easy to install. Just unscrew the side fan, slide it in and you are ready to go! It is also an easy way to put the spring under control. If anyone wants to print and test it then feel free to let me know if it works for flex. Print Settings Printer: Prusa I4 Rafts: No Supports: No Resolution: .1 Notes: Print it on its side with the stepper motor groove pointing up. I chamfered the edges on the other side so you shouldn't have to worry about support. 2mm walls don't leave much space for infill. I have been using PLA which super sticks, so I have not had to worry about rafts or brims. The lower the resolution, the less chances of your filament catching, but I have also printed at .2 and it is ok for normal filament. Custom Section Basically I used Onshape and a caliper.
