This is a modification to the Prusa Mini electronics/controlboard enclosure top cover to add a 4010 cooling fan. This modification will provide active air cooling to help keep everything cool especially over long prints (18h+) in hot environments. This also removes the "holes" found in the stock top cover so there's much less chance of small filament debris and other such things dropping inside.

Important: Adding a fan like this will require tapping in to the power rail. Do not do this if you are not familiar with such modification. This is done at your own risk.

Additional Hardware required:

1x 4010 fan. This can be a 12v fan but you will need a buck converter to drop down from 24v. I am using a 12V Sunon fan with a MP1584EN based buck converter to drop down to 9v to get a good balance of airflow and noise.

4x M4x16 screws and nuts.

Step down/buck converter if you're not using a 24v fan.

Mini fuse tap (see automotive fuse tap, make sure to get a mini tap) to tap in to the power. You can try an alternative way to get power, but this is one of the easiest ways.

Powering the fan:

The fuse will give you power to the positive side. Use one of the screws on the board to get the negative side. For the positive side, you can use a mini fuse tap. Please read up on how to use a tap like this if you're not familiar. For the negative side, use a round terminal connector to properly connect to the screw/negative side. If you're using a step down/buck converter, set the voltage BEFORE connecting the fan. I also recommend heat shrinking the entire buck converter so that there's no possibility of a short.

Mount the fan in a push configuration such that air is pushed in to the enclosure. There are vents on the bottom of the stock enclosure along with the holes for the USB port that will allow the air to flow out nicely.

Print instructions

Print this in PETG to match the other printed parts on the Prusa Mini.
