Hi all, I tried searching for an adapter such as this one but could not find anything like it.

I usually use my Mini for prototyping smaller parts and frequently use different color filament. I don't like to leave my filament out in the open where dust and debris can collect on the spool so I use a small enclosure for the filament. I have it sealed using pneumatic or “Bowden” style connectors and PTFE tube. I never liked having to push/pull the PTFE tube in and out of the filament sensor so I made an adapter to make things a lot simpler when loading/unloading filament.

I used a very short piece of PTFE tube, 9.44mm in length between the adapter and the sensor housing (see photo) that butts up to the connector threaded onto the adapter. I used a 2mm centering bit to give the PTFE piece an inside chamfer allowing the filament to guide smoothly.

I used a 4-40 X 22mm machine screw to secure the adapter onto the filament sensor. The connector has M6 threads. Total depth of the bowden thread in the adapter is about 5mm.

Working great so have fun. ;p
