<p>This is a remix of the popular shield made by <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/31371-prusa-minimini-extruder-shieldMatth">Mathieu</a>. We extended it and added a small pocket to insert a small magnet so you can attach other prints to the front part of the hot end. Maybe logos, or funny shapes.</p><p>&nbsp;</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/258434/rich_content/2d816e79-fb1d-4c13-bb04-19b19f18af20/prusamini_hotend_cover_magnetic_logo_gif.gif#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22445dbce0-e4cd-43f0-8df0-f0ad82878395%22%2C%22w%22%3A525%2C%22h%22%3A525%7D"></figure><h4>How to print</h4><p>The print is made of two parts,&nbsp;</p><ul><li><strong>The hot end shield itself</strong>: should be printed as in the provided .3mf file: standing, with supports, at 0.2 mm layer height. Works best if printed with a heat-resistant filament. We tried PLA but after a week it bent because of the heat. Better use PETG or ASA (we are using ASA with no problems now). The 3mf file also has some support blocker to prevent the generation of supports where it is not needed.</li></ul><p>&nbsp;</p><ul><li><strong>Logo base:</strong> this is a square part with a pocket for inserting a magnet mid-print. If you print at 0.2 mm layer height, you have to insert a color change or pause at layer 23 (2.4 mm in Z) to place the magnet before completing the print. Do not use too much infill to keep the part lightweight. This square part can be printed with PLA as it is not exposed to high temperatures.</li></ul><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/258434/rich_content/dd6fae77-935c-4938-be3b-e4d9b0353dc4/prusamini_hotend_cover_magnetic_logo_printing_gif.gif#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%221d787696-72eb-426e-bba7-c452cffba6b5%22%2C%22w%22%3A525%2C%22h%22%3A525%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><p>The provided files already have the features described above, but feel free to edit anything as you like.</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:75%;"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/258434/rich_content/1453fac7-b15d-4038-8e46-eee34cb2fd71/slicer_image.png#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22d07c771c-d43b-4636-8bfe-d8dbbbaf1d2f%22%2C%22w%22%3A2559%2C%22h%22%3A853%7D"></figure><p>&nbsp;</p><h4>Non-printed parts</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We used two 10 mm x 2 mm neodymium magnets.&nbsp;</p><p>One of them has to be placed during the printing of the square part, as described above.&nbsp;</p><p>The other one has to be placed on the back of the hot end shield after it is printed. While doing this, make sure that the orientation of the magnet is such that the attraction force between this magnet and the one embedded in the square part keeps everything in place.</p><figure class="image image_resized" style="width:50%;"><img src="https://media.printables.com/media/prints/258434/rich_content/c99993b3-0286-477b-8c30-e4d252131bbe/magnet_pocket_2.jpg#%7B%22uuid%22%3A%22ea2f692a-a8bf-48a3-b668-10ca505f4dc7%22%2C%22w%22%3A1576%2C%22h%22%3A1182%7D"></figure><h4>&nbsp;</h4><h4>Installation</h4><p>&nbsp;</p><ol><li>Place the magnet in the back of the hot end shield, and verify that it is oriented correctly so that the magnet inside the square piece is attracted to the hot end shield.</li><li>Install the hot end shield as indicated in the <a href="https://www.printables.com/model/31371-prusa-minimini-extruder-shield">original post by Mathieu</a></li><li>Place the square piece on the front side of the hot end shield using the magnetic force.</li></ol><p>Enjoy :)</p><p>&nbsp;</p><p>We hope you liked this remix.&nbsp;</p><p>&nbsp;</p><h4>Follow us / support</h4><p>If you want to see our journey, <strong>follow us on Instagram!
