Prusa Swing Camera Mount (for a ring camera)

Prusa Swing Camera Mount (for a ring camera)

I didn't want to go with octoprint on my Prusa, so I used a ring camera to get video of my print and to see the display screen. This mounts using thru bolts on top of your prusa ikea lack enclosure. The mount allows you to swing the camera out of the way when you are accessing the printer. I designed a back plate that essentially acts as a big washer that helps support the idea table top. I mounted mine just off to the left so that it wouldn't interfere with the spool holder. Now I can see my printer in HD on my phone and monitor it's progress. I also added a smart things plug, so that if I need to stop a print remotely I can essentially "pull the plug" with that device. There are also holes in the corners for small zip ties to keep the wires neat. The camera holder keeps the ring camera from coming off when it's upside down, since this camera was meant to be mounted statically. This was designed to be mounted about 2.75 in from the edge of your enclosure to support the arm of the camera. I have added the fusion file in case you want to adapt it to a different style camera. This was designed to be printed in Prusa MK3S printer. HARDWARE For the hinge use a 1/4in x 1in bolt with nylock nut For the arm supports I used #8x1in machine screws For the Camera mount I drilled into the plastic and used #4x1/2in wood screws. To mount the base I used #10x2.5in machine screws For the Camera holder I used #8x1 3/4 machine screws
