prusa x carriage with auto leveling probe

this x carriage has a magnetic probe mount modified from nopheads magnet probehttp://www.thingiverse.com/thing:7550 for almost automatic bed levelling that doesn't require a servo so those of use with sanguinololu boards can have auto bed levelling with out the need to buy a ramps and a servo auto bed levelling requires a atmega 1284 and a lcd control makes things better (likely not doable with out it ) this is still a work in progress as I haven't mounted the current version to my printer yet to test edit mounted and tested tonight works quite nice hope you guys can make good use of it edit: added clamps for the belt sorry I forgot them Edit: after a year of use the original is still mounted and working very nicely I would say likely the single best upgrade to my prusa has literally turned this machine into a reliable machine -insert sd card -pick file -lower probe -push the button -wait for print to complete instead of the -level it -level it again -hope its ok -start print -stop print -level it -start again Instructions I printed both parts then joined them with 2 m3 bolts m2.5 might fit a bit better with nuts I put a M1 command in my start code before my G28 and G29 commands to make sure the probe is down and ready to go before a print starts then it prints like normal probes the bed and when the hot end comes down to start printing the magnets pull the probe up clear I also put a move to z15 before starting my homing levelling so that I have the height to lower the probe get the strongest magnets you can find it lets you have the probe lift higher from the print bed here is a sample of my start code: G21 ; [mm] mode G90 ; absolute mode G1 Z15 F1000; G92 E0; M83; M140 S{print_bed_temperature}; M104 S140 Set temperature M1; M117 Homing; G28; Home axis M117 auto levelling; G29; G1 Y10 X10 F3000; M190 S{print_bed_temperature}; M109 S{print_temperature}; M117 Priming; G1 Z0.1 F300; Lower nozzle retracts probe and prevents strings from priming G1 E8 F150;Prime extruder 4mm G1 E-2 F150;retract extruder 2mm G92 E0; M82; M117 Printing; G1 Z2 F300;Lift nozzle get the strongest magnets you can find it lets you have the probe lift higher from the print bed
