PS4 thumbstick extenders - library of options

thingiverse

I designed a PS4 joystick extender that would print with the detail I wanted. I had printed some other extenders I found on Thingiverse, but they wouldn't print with the detail I wanted. Either there was too much overhang or I'd print with supports but the final product didn't look great. The ones I created print in 2 pieces and then I super glued the halves together. So yes, there's some post-processing, but doing so allows you to get good detail on the top of the stick (where your thumb goes) and good detail on the snapping features. I created a whole library of options depending on what you may find comfortable - different heights and with or without ridges on top (for extra grip), etc. Choose a bottom (suffix "_bot") based on the height you want and a top (suffix "_top") based on the style of top you want. Here's the decoder for the file names: The "2d" or "3d" is the depth (2 = 2 mm, 3 = 3mm) of the dent on top. The ones that have a 2 mm depth have an option for a convex bump or not (see below). The ones that have a 3 mm deep dent only have the convex bump on top. The number before the h is the height in mm. So "10h" is a 10 mm height extension. The "b" or "no-b" is whether of not there's a bump on top. Meaning, if it's "no-b," then the top is concave. If it's "b" then it's convex on top. Lastly, the "r" and "no-r" is whether or not there are ridges on top. Personally, I don't use them on the ones I used, but I tried it out to see if I liked the extra grip from them. The one shown in the images is a "3d_b_no-r" and a 10 mm height extension.
