PSP D-PAD D Pad direction cross 1000 series (phat)

Sick to death of the crappy D-pad the original PSP has (1000 series/Phat). Saw this mod on a forum from a few years back, where the person used a SNES D-Pad in the PSP. I decided I must be able to work one up using Fusion360, and here we are after a few revisions. Print in PLA (or ABS if you can keep the dimensions good without curling etc). Will require small trimming with side cutters (mainly the thin edges around the cross tips. Remove faceplate: (remove battery and memory stick), one screw to lower edge on the chrome trim, two black screws on back behind D-pad area, two black and two silver screws under battery (need to remove the warranty sticker). Faceplate gently pulls off, it will be stuck lightly to the screen, go carefully around the edge and pull gently it will peel apart easily. Nothing to be afraid of here. Remove rubber membrane (care) and remove old crappy D-Pad. You will need to cut the PSP case - basically cut the cross shape (you remove the middle area), its plainly obvious where you cut, use a sharp craft knife or scalpel and go careful. make a cut front face and rear face and eventually the piece will come out. File any rough edge, and to make the cross edges straight but shouldn't require much. Fit new D-pad carefully and check for where it touches the surround, and trim these areas from the new D-pad (not the PSP) with knife/side cutters. Then a little sanding of the new D-pad to keep surfaces smooth(ish). Should only take a couple of minutes to fit. Finally fit the new D-pad, clean any dust from the screen/cover and replace faceplate - then reassemble - done! Test all buttons still work etc. You should find the new D-Pad is much easier to use and more reliable. Games like streetfighter are now SO much easier to play!
