PTT holder for a friend's Baofeng radio. Not sure the exact model he got, it was some generic one from AliExpress, there's a bunch of similar models floating around, if I find a link to the exact model he's got I'll put it here later. The one in green was a basic fit test, the black one is a later revision with some edges trimmed to make it easier to put the PTT in this holder when offroading. That's the one he's currently using, made in ABS. Stick it somewhere convenient in your car's panel with double sided tape or dual lock and it's ready to use. Printed with no supports on the orientation shown in the screenshot. The chamfer in the channel for the rotation ring isn't needed to make it fit but makes printing without supports much easier and doesn't seem to add a lot of play that may cause even more rattling noises than you'll usually hear in an offroad vehicle. If you decide to go crazy and print it with TPU (I did it just for fun), you might want to leave it as it's in the STL file, to keep the heavier side touching the bed and avoid excessive wobbling if you're using a bed slinger like mine. If you decide to omit the chamfers, you might want to rotate it 180° in the Y axis (as shown in the screenshot) to minimize the amount of support material needed, just don't try it when printing with TPU if you value your sanity, unless you're experienced enough to avoid the rookie mistakes I had dealing with supports on TPU so far. Printing in other orientations is a recipe for making fragile parts that will break very easily, usually just by giving it a stern look. Unless you print it in TPU, it's so flexible and it just doesn't want to delaminate, but I'm not sure it's the best material to be left in a hot car. Obviously, it won't work with different PTT models. It's not pretty and the FreeCAD model shows what an horrible hack it is, but it's does the job well enough for something designed by an amateur. I've done test prints on ABS (110°C bed, 235°C ext), PLA (60°C bed, 200°C ext) and TPU (unheated bed, 220°C ext), 0.4mm nozzle, 0.3mm first layer height, 0.2mm layer height, filament cooling enabled from the 3rd layer onwards when printing with PLA. 10mm/s printing speed on the first layer, 30mm/s on later layers.
