Punch and Judy in Putney, London

myminifactory

This sculpture is part of a trail installation of nine large sculptures along the River Thames at Putney, South London. A beautiful 1.5 mile riverside walk including parkland and piazzas replete with cafes and restaurants. he trail was opened in September 2008 and was organisd by Putney Town Centre Partnership with Wandsworth Council. Here you will find a large body of work by the sculptor Alan Thornhill whose long association with clay developed from pottery into sculpture. His evolved methods of working enabled the dispensing of the sculptural armature to allow improvisation, whilst his portraiture challenges notions of normality through rigorous observation.   This object is part of "Scan The World". Scan the World is a non-profit initiative introduced by MyMiniFactory, through which we are creating a digital archive of fully 3D printable sculptures, artworks and landmarks from across the globe for the public to access for free. Scan the World is an open source, community effort, if you have interesting items around you and would like to contribute, email stw@myminifactory.com to find out how you can help.
