Push N Turn Fastener

Description: This is a fastener rivet which can be used to fasten two plates. Functionality of this is easy. One just needs to insert it through the holes of both the plates and rotate the center part with help of a screw driver, hence the name push n turn. To unlock this fastener one needs to rotate the center piece in the reverse direction. This fastener can only be manufactured through additive manufacturing as the parts are interconnected and cannot be assembled or dissembled without permanent damage. Working: As we rotate the threaded center shaft (2) the piston (3) will slide down expanding the walls of the body (1) and hence locking the plates. To unlock the fastener the shaft (2) needs to be rotated in reverse direction, the piston (2) slides up and the body (1) walls return to their original position.
