PVC Bow Riser

PVC Bow Riser

My father is working on a PVC Bow, so I figured I would make him a Bow Riser. I used Ian Sayers Bow Grip - https://grabcad.com/library/takedown-bow-grip-1 and modified it to be only 10.5 inches tall to print on my delta and work with 1 inch PVC. I also added two slots for M3 bolts to add additional hardware to the bow in the future. Print Settings Printer: Delta Rafts: No Supports: Yes Resolution: 0.3 Infill: Custom, see notes Notes: for the print, i used Simplify3D. Shells: 4 - 5 Top and Bottom Layers: 3 - 4 I made the print solid from 0 mm to 39 mm & 224 mm - end. The infill in the middle (between 39 and 224 mm) was set to 50% and Triangular Post-Printing Pen Torch to strengthen the print To make the print stronger, I used a Pen Torch to melt the outside layers together and completely solidify and fuse the outside of the print together. I would recommend practicing on some scrap prints first before doing it on this print. Even though I took my time on post-processing, i still burnt the PLA a bit, and deformed the final print a tad. But with that being said, the part is very strong now and is also watertight. It took about 45 minutes to post process in all. How I Designed This SolidWorks I used SolidWorks to bring the STP file in as a solid and modify it to my needs. I used Ian Sayers Bow Grip STP file - https://grabcad.com/library/takedown-bow-grip-1
