PVS-14 Gopro Beamsplitter Mount BETA v0.1

BETA RELEASE v0.1 This is a device to mount a Gopro Hero9 to a standard PVS-14. A beam splitting prism is used to allow the user to look through the PVS-14 as normal while the Gopro receives a duplicate image. This device was designed for the Gopro Hero9 or Hero10 camera. Any older model of Gopro is dimensionally different and will probably not align properly. I may design modified versions for older Gopro models in the future. Required additional parts: A standard 20mm beam splitting dichroic 50:50 prism. These are available on ebay and aliexpress for around 20-30 USD. 2x Gopro thumbscrews and nuts. Instructions: 1. Print all parts, you need 2x of Part 5 (Pin). 2. Cleanup all support material carefully. 3. Assemble the device. It should be straightforward how the parts come together. See picture 4. Insert the prism though the side opening. Make sure the prism is aligned properly. Look through it through each face to ensure the reflected image is viewable from the Gopro port. 5. Insert the dovetail prism door (part 4) to secure the prism in place. It should be a tight friction fit. 6. Attach the device to your PVS-14. Note that you will have to remove the eyecup retainer ring. I recommend the following Gopro settings: * Res|FPS: 5k|24fps * Lens: Narrow * Hypersmooth: Off * Bit Rate: High * Lock orientation to horizontal The video/photos that the Gopro captures will be mirrored. You will have to flip it in post. You will also want to rotate the image and zoom in.
