The PXB-9 „Cheapshot“ is the first modular crossbow based weapons platform. It is, as the name suggests, designed to be cheap and easy to manufacture and is supposed to be nasty, still. For this very reason, the parts are designed with a minimalist mindset to reduce production cost and modular adaptability to the user's needs. Moreover – the basic build will not require any external materials (except the 3D-printed ones) and will use parts avaliable from crossbow reassambly. To greatly improve performance, you will only require a single magnet (per shot). This adaptability is the biggest strength of the „Cheapshot“ - any user can use the model to tinker, tweak and adapt it to the very own needs and desires. The base model v.01 will include two ammunition types (scatter shot and flechette) and an optional picatinny scope mount (although the precision of the avaliable types of ammunition will not require a scope due to potentionally high spread). The current constellation of parts and design are influenced by and comply with german weapons/gun laws. The chamber frame is made in to parts with a slit down the middle not only to ease the loading process, but also to deviate from a barrel like assembly and destinguish itself from what is being defined as a „gun“ by german law, making the cheapshot still legal to obtain and carry in public by people of legal age (18yo).
