Pyramid-shaped UV/vis cuvette stand

Pyramid-shaped UV/vis cuvette stand

This didn't need to look the way it does... What I needed, was something to stand a 1 cm pathlength fluorimeter cuvette on so it was in the path of the beam inside the vacuum chamber of a near-infrared spectrometer while trying to jury-rig it to measure infrared fluorescence from the cuvette (it didn't work). The insides of the spectrometer were quite cramped which is why the pyramid base is not square. The cuvette had to be at an angle which is why the top is rotatable. Anyway, this thing was the result. Quite likely over-engineered for what it was supposed to do. Reminds me of Stargate SG-1 for some reason. This thing is related to this. In the model, the cuvette holder rotates on a pin on the top of the pyramid. I found this attachment not particularly stable or reliable so ended up putting a bolt through the lot (see pictures). Maybe someone can find a use for this, or modify it to suit their purpose...
