First, what is a Pythagorean Cup? In laymen's terms, it's a cup behaves normally until it's filled past a certain level, at which point it drains the entire contents out the bottom through a siphon tube. For a more detailed explanation on its history and how it works, look at the wikipedia article on it, that provides a good summary. Second, a Pythagorean Cup normally has a giveaway column in the middle of the cup, which contains the siphon tube. That's where this model is different. I've created a cup that does the exact same thing, except the siphon tube is contained in the wall of the cup. I felt that the column rising through the center of the original design was somewhat distracting, and that the cup would be much cooler without the column. Print Settings Printer: Monoprice Select Mini Rafts: Doesn't Matter Supports: No Resolution: 0.21875 Infill: 20% Notes: If you choose to scale this model up or down in your slicer, I advise against scaling down, or the siphon tube might become too small to function. As it is, the total height of the cup is 4.45 inches. Update 12/29/16: The model is on the border of being too small. For better results, scale the model up by 1.2x on the horizontal axes (X & Y). Or if you wish, on the Z axis as well. I'm working with a small-volume printer, so I personally can't scale the Z axis any larger.
